Acne Remedies That You Should Consider For Clear Skin
Dean Shainin

Acne is one of the most common skin disorders in the world today. Millions of people are plagued by it everyday. Fortunately, it is also the most treatable of all the skin disorders.

Acne is the medical terminology for pimples that erupt on the face and body. It varies in degrees and it can be devastating to those who have severe outbreaks. Although it is largely diet and environment that cause the majority of outbreaks, it can also be caused by overproduction of sebum. Sebum is the waxy substance that lubricates the skin.

Acne remedies were developed to help combat the devastating effects that severe acne can cause. Most patients respond well to acne remedies. There are several different classifications of acne remedies that all work to combat this skin disorder: conventional, herbal and homeopathic remedies.

To deal with this condition, a number of acne patients generally respond to one or more acne remedies. When conventional Acne Remedies are prescribed, tretinonin is probably going to be the active ingredient. It is a vitamin A based drug that alters the growth of the oil glands. By altering the growth, existing pimples will dry up and new ones will not be able to form. There are minimal side effects with tretinonin, such as a mild burning or dry feeling. Antibiotics are another choice for acne remedies. These are given when the acne is inflamed. They give relief to the acne sufferer by soothing and cooling the affected area.

Perhaps the strongest of all acne remedies that can be prescribed is called Accutane. It is a potent drug that works by completely eliminating all signs of acne. This acne remedy is used only as a last resort because of its strength and side effects. When using Accutane, doctors will advise you of the possibilities of headache, hair loss, muscle pain and itchy skin. Doctors will not prescribe Accutane if to women who are pregnant or could become pregnant because it has been proven to cause serious birth defects.

Some people choose to use herbal acne remedies. There are several available on the market today. Black currant seed oil and evening primrose oil are among the most well known and most sought after of all the herbal acne remedies. These are used to treat existing acne and when taken consistently, can clear up affected areas. When using herbal acne remedies as a preventative measure, it is recommended that Echinacea, tea tree oil and calendula along with golden seal be used. These herbal acne remedies will prevent acne from forming. It is important to remember that herbal acne remedies do not offer instant relief. It can take up to three months to see the full effect.

Homeopathic acne remedies are the least chosen because they do not offer a lot in the of way of acne medicines. The most effective homeopathic acne remedy is called Kali bromatum. It has shown tremendous results, although it is necessary to take six doses per day and the healing time varies with each patient. It should be known that, if the patient has severe acne, homeopathic acne remedies cannot cure within a short amount of time. The patient should see a medical professional to find out if there is an underlying medical condition.
